European Futurity Success

Despite battling against the odds of a recently broken leg, and virtually no riding since December 2012, Francesca piloted her two Smart Spook mares in to the top ten of the Level 4 European Non Pro Futurity. Chic Chic Horrah, her 2012 American Futurity ride breezed through the go round and went on to take 5th place in the finals. Really Smart Spook had only been ridden twice by Francesca before entering the arena for the go round. After a few rider errors and miscommunications the pair missed qualifying by one place and so had to go to the consolation round. With another two practice rides under their belts they went on to win the Consolation and go to the finals where they secured the 6th place. Francesca was delighted and Doug was relieved as it was a pretty tall order for both of them, let alone the horses! The $7000+ prize money has now put Francesca over the $300,000 LTE in NRHA, one of only two Non Pros in Europe to achieve that, so far.
